Description
I'm sure, that my concert is the Best Concert for Double Bass and Orchestra, which you've ever heard.
Concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra by Ariel Davydov was established in 2008. The premiere was on March 24, 2001 in St. Petersburg. Played solo double bassist Alexander Shilo and St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Conducted by the Argentine conductor Gustavo Plis-Sterenberg.
Performers and the audience should know, that at this concerto is used a double bass tuned one second higher than usual (in D). Music notation is higher than sounding by one minor seventh.
Several bassists-soloists of the highest international level have this concerto as the part of their repertoire . They all believe it is one of the best concerto in the world.
I thank the Prof. of St. Petersburg Conservatory Alexander Shilo and conductor Gustavo Plis for their first performance. It is most successful.
